Granteq recently completed one of its most significant AV projects for a prominent organisation in Dubai. The project involved upgrading and innovating the audio-visual infrastructure across 108 meeting spaces, including meeting rooms, board rooms, huddle spaces, and combinable divisible rooms. By integrating advanced video conferencing systems, collaboration tools, and unified communications technology, Granteq transformed these spaces into fully integrated, high-tech environments, optimising communication and productivity throughout the organisation.
The Project
Granteq’s approach focused on customising the AV solutions for different types of rooms, ensuring that every space was equipped with the appropriate technology to meet the needs of a dynamic and modern workplace. Each room was enhanced with cutting-edge features, allowing for seamless connectivity, ease of use, and high-quality communication.
Small to Medium-Sized Rooms
Granteq upgraded eight small to medium-sized rooms, installing Microsoft Teams Room (MTR) and Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) video conferencing systems. These systems allow users to easily connect via their own devices or using the integrated MTR solution, ensuring flexibility for in-person or virtual meetings. Additionally, retractable cable cubbies were added for convenient, user-friendly connectivity, making these rooms highly functional for day-to-day meetings.
Divisible and Multi-Function Rooms
Granteq also delivered a solution for divisible rooms that can be transformed into smaller spaces or combined into larger areas depending on the organisation’s requirements. These rooms were equipped with state-of-the-art audio-visual technology, including:
- Ceiling microphones for clear, high-quality audio
- Ultra-High Definition (UHD) cameras for capturing sharp visuals
- 65” and 98” displays to support presentations and video conferencing
- Ceiling speakers for balanced audio distribution
- Control systems for managing room divisibility, lighting, and AV equipment
- Both MTR and BYOD systems for maximum flexibility
One such divisible room was designed to function as either two separate meeting rooms or a combined town hall space. In addition to the features above, it was also equipped with Catchbox microphones for interactive discussions, Voice Lift technology for amplifying voices in town hall mode, and Picture-in-Picture mode for more dynamic in-room presentations. The integration of auto-switching UHD cameras ensures that every angle is captured during video calls, enhancing the overall communication experience.
Combinable Meeting Spaces and Town Halls
Granteq extended its expertise to designing large, combinable meeting rooms that can be converted into town hall spaces capable of accommodating up to 120 people. These versatile rooms can also be divided into smaller meeting spaces depending on the requirements of the event or meeting. The AV systems in these rooms operate independently when divided but can be controlled centrally when combined for larger gatherings, making them perfect for a range of uses, from small group discussions to large presentations and company-wide town halls.
Workshop Audio Systems
In addition to the meeting spaces, Granteq also enhanced the organisation’s workshop rooms by installing specialised audio systems designed for machinery training and other interactive sessions. These rooms feature:
- A Digital Signal Processor (DSP) to improve sound quality
- Microphone receivers for clear communication
- A central control system to select content sources and manage the training environment
- Catchbox microphones for dynamic engagement during workshops
This system allows trainers and participants to communicate effortlessly, ensuring a smooth and interactive learning experience.
Cisco Technology Integration
A crucial element of this project was the integration of Cisco technology, which powers the organisation’s unified communications and video conferencing systems. Cisco’s reliable infrastructure provides a backbone for high-quality video conferencing, seamless collaboration, and uninterrupted connectivity across all meeting rooms. With Cisco’s advanced technology, teams can conduct virtual meetings with ease, share content seamlessly, and ensure that collaboration remains efficient and productive, whether participants are on-site or remote.
Outcomes
The AV solutions implemented by Granteq have significantly enhanced the organisation’s meeting, training, and collaboration capabilities. The divisible rooms offer exceptional flexibility, making it easier for the organisation to adapt spaces to suit varying needs—whether for large presentations, intimate discussions, or workshops. The combination of UHD cameras, ceiling microphones, and control systems ensures high-quality audio and video performance, essential for effective communication and collaboration.
Moreover, the deployment of MTR and BYOD systems offers users the convenience of joining meetings using their own devices or the room’s built-in technology, fostering a user-friendly experience across all 108 rooms. The integrated digital signage and room booking systems also add to the overall efficiency, keeping the organisation’s teams informed and connected.
